It is each competitor's responsibility to ensure they enter the appropriate age class/course.

Anyone can take part in the Caddihoe weekend, regardless of age or ability, provided they enter by the 7th October. However, different competitions within the weekend have different requirements. The information below is designed to help people decide which Age Class -and equivalent Course - they choose to enter on each of the two days.
1. The Caddihoe Competition. Based on the combined time an individual takes on Day 1 and Day 2
  • This is open to those who enter in their appropriate age class on both Day 1 and Day 2 and also to those who choose to “run up” in the same age class on each day.
  • People who choose to “run down” in a different age class will not be eligible for a Caddihoe certificate
  • Entries must be received via Racesignup by the advertised closing date. Late entries received after the closing date, and Entries on the Day, will not be eligible
  • Certificates will be awarded to the overall winner,2nd and 3rd in each age class, both male and female

2. UKOL (United Kingdom Orienteering League). Caddihoe Days 1 and 2 are UKOL events
  • The competition is based around the standard age-based class structure, i.e. to be eligible you must enter your appropriate age class.
  • However, Juniors in classes M14 and W14 and below are permitted to ‘run up’ and score points in the M16 / W16 class.

3. South West Middle Distance Championships 2025 (Day 2)
  • Only members of SWOA are eligible for a certificate
  • Enter by age class. However, if a competitor chooses to “run up” – for example an M16 to run M18, or a W35 to run W21 – then they must enter the age class that they wish to be competitive in, not their actual age class
It is important that competitors check the age class and associated course they are entering for each day. Whilst each age class and associated course has an equivalent colour coded standard, it is the age class and course you enter which will determine the map you are allocated
Anyone wishing to enter a less technical course can enter the non-trophy Light Green, Orange or Yellow Colour Coded courses. Note that there is no equivalent to a White course at Caddihoe 25, due to the nature of the terrain.
