Training at St Martha's Hill

Guildford (GO) and Mole Valley (MV) Orienteering Clubs have teamed up to offer training and coaching for orienteers, from novices to the fully-fledged - there's always room for improvement! Our joint GO/MV training activities are small, friendly events with basic practical exercises for beginners as well as opportunities for experienced orienteers to improve and develop their skills.

This next activity is on Saturday 7 February from 12pm to 2pm.

Please register here to reserve your place. Choose your approach:
Beginner - an introduction to the sport with friendly support available to help you to complete your first course;
Improver - focused exercises (see specific details on the club website) to develop your navigation skills;
SCO-Revision - Self-Controlled Orienteering revision, to practice your weaker skills in a non-competitive environment (with an untimed Score map).

Attendance is free to members of GO and MV. For anyone not lucky enough to be a member of either of our clubs we ask for £4 towards the cost of maps and land permission.

If you are coming as a bystander and/or to watch over your young charges and you are willing to help, please register (no cost) as a Helper.

Entries can be registered (and amended) until midday on the day of the activity. You can withdraw your entry online until 8pm the night before (and you get an automatic credit of any payment).

There is a useful jargon-buster web page for beginners to orienteering on the MV website at https://mvoc.org/jargon-buster/
