Travel to the event
There are 2 railway stations in Guildford. The event centre is at W3W ///rent.itself.clips about a 1.5 mile walk from the mainline station and 0.5 miles from the smaller London Road station.
Car Parking (there is no organised parking)
The Park and Ride car park by the Spectrum Leisure Centre is the most convenient place to leave your car (free). On Sundays there is quite a lot of free parking on the streets of Guildford near Stoke Park which is where the event starts and finishes. Guildford College also has a parking area open (free) to the public on Sundays (off the mini roundabout where Recreation Road meets Stoke Road).
Nor are there organised toilets
There are public toilets in Stoke Park Gardens at W3W ///turns.straw.door (and the Spectrum Leisure Centre has toilets for its users).
Junior Courses
For the Women/Men's Junior course (M/W16-) it has been necessary to use two areas with some dead running between them, which is why the course is longer than usual. The course also has a timed-out road crossing. Some of the course crosses roads in a housing estate, traffic is generally slow-moving and not busy.
The Young Juniors' (M/W12-) course stays in Stoke Park (traffic-free).
Please contact the organiser if you have concerns about traffic.
Start and Finish
The Start and Finish for the Young Juniors course (course 7) are near the event centre/Download in Stoke Park.
For all the other courses there is a 1 km walk to the Start and about the same back from the Finish.
Participant Code of Conduct
I'm sure you don't need to be reminded to be courteous to other users of the area while you are competing, but all the same here is a reminder!
Please make yourself aware of and abide by the British Orienteering Participant Code of Conduct (revised September 2022).
COVID-19
Whilst restrictions have been lifted, Covid-19 is very much still in circulation and we encourage a continued responsible approach to orienteering events. People have different risk tolerances and we like to be mindful of, and to respect, others' personal choices as normality returns.
Please do not attend if you or a member of your household has Covid-19 symptoms.
Medical conditions
Competitors take part at their own risk. If you have an existing Medical Condition of which the Organisers should be aware, please complete a Medical Form which can be downloaded from the British Orienteering website and hand in at Download/Enquiries in a sealed envelope marked with your name and "Confidential Medical Form for GO 15/06/25 event only". This will be opened only if you require medical treatment and are not conscious. It will be destroyed at the end of the event.
Refund Policy
Until 12 June, online self-withdrawals will be automatically credited to your Racesignup account. Such credits can be used when entering any future GO events through Racesignup.
After this date no automatic credit will be given; however you can request one if you feel your circumstances deserve one - please contact the Organiser.
