Given the current conditions, i.e. low temperatures and sheet ice on many paths, and no expected improvement in the weather, the chance of accidents is sufficiently high that MDOC have reluctantly decided to postpone the event on the grounds of safety of both competitors and volunteers.
We will now hold the event on Saturday January 18th, weather permitting. All details will be. the same. Your entry will be automatically transferred to the new date. Entries will reopen as soon as possible. If you cannot come on the new date, we hope you will be happy to donate your entry fee to our charity.
If you wish to have a refund, please email the organiser at Lyme2025@mdoc.org.uk
This is our annual new year charity event. This year's charity is "The Blythe House Hospice" which provides free care and support to people affected by cancer and other life-limiting illnesses in the High Peak and surrounding areas. Donations to the charity will be welcomed and collected on the day. The format is a Scatter course where each course map contains a selection of the control points on the ground. There will be a single start location and a single finish location. From a massed start, competitors must visit all controls on their map in any order but will also be able to miss out some controls of their own choice. How many you miss out depends on your age class.
Senior BOF member. £2 Senior non member £3 All juniors. £0.70
The fees for this event are designed to cover the cost of levies payable to British Orienteering and The North West Orienteering Association. All other costs will be absorbed by MDOC
No other payment is required but donations to this year’s charity will be welcomed, with Gift Aid available. Donations will be taken on the day with payments by card or cash. Phone coverage is 'flakey' so be prepared to use cash for both donations and raffle.
