There are also some helpful youtube introductory videos to watch. One by a nearby London club Newcomer Guide and another from a Manchester based club Getting Started

Timing, Start/Finish and Race Information
Please note: We will be using MapRun to validate checkpoints you visit. No physical checkpoints will be placed in the park - the MapRun app records when you have visited each checkpoint site and notifies you with a tone sound on your phone. You will need to have downloaded MapRun to your phone or GPS watch prior to the event. Please read MapRun Setup Guide for full details. If you have not used MapRun before it is recommended you familiarise yourself with its operation beforehand.

Prior to the event, it is also beneficial to download the Event. Once in MapRun go to Select Event: UK > Kent > Maidstone > Mote Park LONG COURSE July 2025, or Mote Park SHORT COURSE July 2025 depending on the course entered.

Start and Finish will be located close to the burning ground car park, and will be marked with the Saxons Start and Finish Banners.

The start will be open between 11.00 and 11.30am. At the start you will collect a map, and can start as soon as the app registers the Start checkpoint.

Visit as many of the virtual controls as you can within the 60 minutes (according to either the Short or Long Score rules as appropriate) before returning to the Start/Finish area. The MapRun app will register the Finish, and your result will be automatically uploaded to the MapRun results.
