Long
Entered: 2
Medium
Entered: 3
Short
Three courses are available with approximate lengths:
Long: 6 km
Medium: 4 km
Short: 2 km
These are straight-line distances. The optimal running route could be about 50% longer than this.
Please note: the Short course sticks mainly to the park and does not cross roads. Juniors who have run an orienteering course before can run this course unaccompanied. We recommend juniors who are new to orienteering try it out going round with an adult.
The Medium and Long courses cross many minor roads in the urban area and Junior runners (under 16 years old), even if experienced orienteers, must be accompanied by an older runner. If you are 16+ and new to orienteering we recommend that you start on the Medium course. The Medium and Long courses will enjoy the challenge of a newly mapped area.
