Part of the Wessex Region Night League 2025/26
A 60-minute orienteering score event in Hursley. Entries after 11th February will be subject to map availability.

This is the 13th event in the Wessex Region Night League 2025/26 season using a map that has been newly extended Eastwards to cover Hursley village as well as the IBM site. The format will be a one-hour score event, using a variant of 'odds-and-evens' for those looking for more of a challenge.

British Orienteering senior non-member supplement: £2.00. Juniors are entrants aged under 21 on 31st December.

Event Information
Directions
The event will be based at the IBM Hursley site where there is plenty of parking. Food/drinks afterwards will be at The Dolphin in Hursley village.
Map/Area
1:5,000 on SRA3 waterproof paper, 5m contours overprinted with control IDs and point values. The area is a mixture of the open parkland and buildings of the IBM site, and Hursley village, which are separated by a thin strip of woodland.
Course
1 hour score event with a twist on the odds-and-evens format.

Hired dibbers will be made available at registration. Controls are SIAC-enabled.

The start will be adjacent to registration.

Everyone must report to download afterwards.
Conduct
Please make yourself aware of and abide by the British Orienteering Participant Code of Conduct.
Timing
Registration: 17:45 to 18:45
Starts: 18:00 to 19:00
Courses close: promptly at 20:00
Facilities
Registration, start, finish, and download, will all be adjacent to the parking on the IBM site. There will be no toilets available here.

You may then walk or drive to The Dolphin. If eating food, please order food from the main menu by Monday 16th February at the latest. Contact details are on the pub's website. Please let them know that you are part of the orienteering group.
Safety
All competitors must wear hi-viz tops and have sufficient lights to complete their course. Please take care when crossing any road, particularly the busy ones which are marked on the map in a darker colour.

Off paths there may be roots and other tripping hazards to be aware of. Cross trainers are recommended due to the mix of paved and unpaved areas.

All juniors under 16 must be accompanied by a responsible adult.
Dogs
Dogs are allowed on the courses, but must be kept on a lead and under control at all times.
